President and Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Trudel has served as our President and CEO since December 2013. Prior to joining Encision, Greg served as Global Director of Marketing for a division within the Surgical Solutions Group at Covidien. His time at Covidien also includes extensive experience in both the Advanced Energy and Surgical Stapling Divisions. Prior to joining Covidien, Greg held leadership roles with ConMed Electrosurgery, SilverGlide Surgical Technologies, and Stryker. He holds a B.S. from the University of Connecticut, Storrs, CT and an M.B.A from the University of Bridgeport, Bridgeport, CT.

Director of Marketing
Mr. Jackman has served as our Director of Marketing since April, 2014. He has been with the company since 2006, serving as the Marketing and Product Manager from December 2012 – May 2014 and the Senior Engineering Program Manager from 2009 – 2012. Brian has a background in marketing, surgical device design, development, and program management. Mr. Jackman holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Colorado at Boulder and holds several patents for laparoscopic surgical instruments.
David W. Newton
Co-founder and VP of Technology
Mr. Newton is one of our co-founders and has worked in a number of capacities since our inception in 1991. From 1989 until 1991, Mr. Newton was President of Newton Associates, Inc., a contract engineering firm. From 1985 to 1989, Mr. Newton was President of Tienet, Inc., a developer of integrated computer systems. Mr. Newton has an additional 16 years of experience as an electrical engineer designing electrosurgical generators and related accessories. Mr. Newton holds 21 patents in the field of medical electronic equipment and holds a Bachelor of Science Electrical Engineering degree from the University of Colorado.
Controller, Treasurer and Corporate Secretary
Ms. Ray is our Controller, Treasurer and Corporate Secretary who joined us in 2012. Ms. Ray has extensive experience in GAAP accounting, ERP systems and process improvement. Additionally, she has a background in supply chain, cost accounting, internal controls, budgeting and forecasting. Ms. Ray has worked in medical devices for 20 years, spending nearly a decade at Medtronic Navigation along with having worked at Covidien, Gambro Renal and Fischer Imaging. Ms. Ray has a BS in Business Administration from Regis University.
Vice President of Engineering
Mr. Biggs has been Director of Product Development for Encision since August 2012. He has over two decades of experience in medical device development, with particular expertise in minimally invasive electrosurgical devices. In the past he worked for Baxter Healthcare, Conmed Electrosurgery, and Asthmatx Inc, which was purchased by Boston Scientific. Mr. Biggs holds a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering from University of California Berkeley, an MBA from University of Colorado, and is a named inventor on 16 US patents in the medical device field
Robert H. Fries
Contract Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Fries has been our Contract Chief Financial Officer since June 2003. Mr. Fries is a founder and the President of FinanceVision Services, Inc., a finance and tax consulting firm, and has served as a finance executive with a broad range of large public multinational companies. Since March 2000, he has provided us with financial and tax consulting services. Mr. Fries is a certified public accountant. Mr. Fries’ credentials include a Masters in Business Administration from St. John’s University, New York, and a Juris Doctor Degree from Jones School of Law.
Vice President of Operations
Valerie has served as Vice President of Operations since March of 2014. Prior to this position, she was Executive Director of Manufacturing at MBio Diagnostics, Program Manager at Baxa Corporation (Currently Baxter Healthcare) and Product Manager at Gambro BCT (Now Terumo BCT). Valerie started in medical device operations in 1995, later dividing her time between product development and operations, bringing products from concept to steady-state production for multi-million annual unit volumes. Valerie’s education includes a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Colorado at Denver, an M.S in Mechanical Engineering, specializing in Bioengineering, from the University of Colorado at Boulder, an MBA from the Daniels College of Business at the University of Denver. She is a certified project manager with a CPM (Certified Project Manager) from the Project Management Leadership Group and a PMP (Project Management Professional) from the Project Management Institute
